About us

Närhälsan Vara health center is located in the countryside but centrally in the region, with proximity to Gothenburg, Vänersborg, Borås, and Herrljunga within about 1 hour's travel.

We have approximately 14,700 registered patients and work to increase continuity. Therefore, we are divided into 4 teams, consisting of doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, social workers, psychologists, and administrative staff. Three times a week, the teams meet to review their patients and prepare for upcoming contacts and visits.

Every day we have an assessment clinic where doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants collaborate on our urgent cases. Two days a week, a physiotherapist is also included in our assessment clinic, in collaboration with Närhälsan rehab. We also work closely with the rehab clinic on other days since they have their premises in the same building. In addition to the usual health center operations, we also have a family center with which the child health care has a close collaboration. In the same building, there is also a nursing home and short-term accommodation, and we have a well-developed collaboration with municipal health and medical care.

About the job

The tasks include the broad field of general medicine with clinic work, both scheduled and urgent appointments. Some on-call duty at Lidköping's emergency center is included in your assignment.

In the role of specialist doctor with us, you will also mentor ST doctors and medical students, which is an important part of our mission to educate tomorrow's healthcare professionals. We offer you a varied job with good development opportunities, for example through continuous education of ten days per year.

About you

You are a licensed physician and have specialist training in the field of general medicine with authorization to practice in Swedish health care. If you have mentoring training, have previously worked as a medical advisor, or with children and youth, it is an advantage. Language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are a requirement for the position.

We are looking for someone who can work independently but still wants to participate in the development of the organization. In your work, you will meet many different patients, so it is important that you are attentive and have a good attitude. You enjoy teamwork, and for you, it is natural to collaborate with colleagues and other partners.
